Through the miracle of technology and utter egoism (Twitter), I will be able to send brief text updates from my phone about the project in the DR. Twitter allows you to update your friends about your day through short messages. Not that any of you are terribly concerned about my daily goings on, but I thought I would make good use of the tool and update you on what God is doing on our trip. What man intended for egoism, God intended for the good! Thank you Twitter!
The right column contains a box that will host those updates. The news feed is a tad slow, but I will be sending updates at least three times a day so check back periodically starting June 13.

Joey,
Reading your daily updates inspires and humbles me at the same time! It also brings to mind my college roomate and her husband who were the first SBC missionaries in the Windward Islands (St Vincent), Like DR it was the very, very rich and the very, very poor with no in betweens. Don had a prsion ministry. Just recently the Cal Baptist Alumni paper had a story and pictures of Don wtih some of the teenagers (at the time) who were prisoners. They are now members of the church he started and one is even a pastor! Don had gone back for a church anniversary celebration and that’s when the pictures were taken. I guess what I’m trying to say is that your’e planting seeds and and you may not know the results till you get to heaven, but then again, the Lord may let you see some results. But the important thing is that you and your group are being faithful to the the Lord! PTL
I love you,
Mom
