Sabbatical thoughts, Part I

The question was asked earlier today if watching the Ellen Show is how I am spending my sabbatical… well, not exactly.  But I do think I must meet Ms. Gladys Hardy of Austin, TX.  I feel confident we would have some fun together.

In addition to traveling to places like Charleston, SC, Albuquerque and Seattle to visit churches, I have established a reading list.  As of today, here is that list:

A Generous Orthodoxy, McLaren
unChristian, Kinnaman
The Shack, Young
Visioneering, Stanley
Life with God, Foster

I think you and Gladys would truly have a fun meeting.

I keep hearing about “The Shack” from everyone. I think I may have to take a look at that one. I heard it had some controversy in it, though. I’d like to see if I can find it.

Finished the Shake on the plane last night…definitely worth the read!

Visioneering is a GREAT book! Following most Andy Stanley books, it is an easy read with some great concepts! Nehemiah never inspired me so much. :)

    dream – enjoy,
